Acute liver failure (ALF) is an uncommon disease with various etiologies, including bacterial infections such as enteric fever caused by Salmonella typhi. This disease presents a variable clinical spectrum, ranging from mild symptoms to severe conditions such as sepsis, intestinal hemorrhage, intestinal perforation, acute liver failure, multiple organ failure, and death. This case report describes a patient initially diagnosed with non-affiliated acute liver failure, who, after blood culture results, was diagnosed with acute liver failure secondary to enteric fever. Among the complications of enteric fever, acute liver failure is rare, with few cases reported in the medical literature. The detection of the causal agent is recommended, as it affects both short- and long-term prognosis.
